North Carolina Plastic Surgery welcomes our newest physician, Dr. Christopher Fender. Dr. Fender attended Stanford University where he majored in Human Biology. He then obtained his doctorate at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. Dr. Fender then completed a combined plastic surgery residency at the University of Rochester. Following his plastic surgery training, he then completed a one year fellowship in Hand Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Fender is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Fender’s clinical practice includes all aspects of hand and wrist surgery as well as peripheral nerve surgery and microsurgery. He has special expertise in surgical treatment of pediatric hand conditions, reconstructive surgery for arthritic and traumatic disorders of the hand and wrist, as well as upper extremity nerve disorders.
Dr. Fender is also actively involved in breast reconstruction after the treatment of breast cancer. He is the only plastic surgeon in Greensboro that offers free tissue transfer for reconstructive surgery of the breast in addition to implant-based reconstruction and other flap surgeries. Dr. Fender is committed to providing excellent surgical care to restore form and function.
